Prue Kelly fails students

From this report at Aotearoa Independent Media Centre, it seems that Prue Kelly has failed to deliver on her agreed actions arising from a meeting with some of the Wellington High School students. Or perhaps not — the press release the school distributed stated that part of the agreement was “To discuss and establish a timeline with the Church for their future relocation”, and the article does not specify what the actual date for Destiny Church to leave was. However, five months of no action is pretty slack however you cut it.

have i mentioned how downright weird it is that there is such an entity as Destiny Church with a prominent role in New Zealand's public discourse? from here on the other side of the world, i find it very hard to appreciate what the heck is going on.

It’s pretty hard to appreciate it close to, as well. What gets me about these examples of bonding between religion and politics is the way that faith absents itself immediately from the result. I think that power, particularly secular power, is the great corrupter of faith.
